Success
Shrink Wrap Failure By A Company Not Using Global Wrap®  Standard Specifications
Global Wrap® Set The Standards Using 31 Years of Experience and Innovations
Global Wrap® considers shrink wrap containments a specialty trade, not to be taken lightly or considered an after thought by estimating.  Consider what a $50,000.00 containment is worth on a $300,000,000.00 project on a critical path.  What does a containment failure mean to a production facility each day, or even an hour?  What does a recordable injury cost in productivity and schedule? When you consider these questions, why would you jeopardize the project and your client's relationship with your company by only considering price for the containment.  Saving a few thousand dollars could cost you more than money. Global Wrap® only asks your estimating and production department to consider containments a specialty trade and profession, it's not a side line for contractor, or a chance they should take by contracting with a company that doesn't meet the standards set by Global Wrap's 31 years of experience and application development.  We use best practices in safety, we only use the best materials and we only have experienced, safety trained in-house people to install our containments.  Our labor rates could be higher, but our safety and productivity makes us less expensive than failure, schedule delays, fines and shutdowns.  Take the time to discuss these problems with your safety director and production department, before giving your next critical environmental containment project to a company that only offers a cheaper price.  Give us a call and we will take the time to discuss your needs and expectations for containments, think Class 1 Environmental Containments, that is the only containment Global Wrap® offers on every application.

Shrink Wrap containments are a Specialty Trade and should be considered a critical part of every project's success.

Global Wrap® Exterior Applications

If Global Wrap® is to compete fairly with people claiming to be our competion, then let's compare apples to apples in the costs of materials.  All too many people use inferior products and labor, but when it comes to the products, GW has set the standards for material success, labor is another question and while GW only uses their own well paid crews, our productivity and safety record overcome the cheap labor costs of others.  We cut no corners in safety, materials and installation.

Global Wrap® Shrink Film Set These Specifications:

Continuous 12 Mil, Fire Retardant Virgin Resin Film.
Take a micrometer and see if the film shows continuous 12 mil thickness, cheap film varies sometimes 3 mils, meaning failure when the heat is based on 12 mil thickness and it hits 9 mil, there is the blowout and the tape patch.  Virgin resin ensures tight continuous fusing at the seams, tape shouldn't be necessary to hold two sheets together.  Wood should never be used to hold sheets together and using rope is a sure step to failure in high winds.

Requirements:

The material has been tested for the following parameters:

ASTM D 1709 Dart Impact Strength
   ASTM D 882 Tensile Properties
o Yield strength
o Break strength
o Elongation

PROCEDURES

The procedures employed in conducting this test are those presented in the Section above,

using the latest version of the stated ASTM Standard.

Upon receipt, the test articles were inspected for damage and any obvious signs of

noncompliance to the requirements of the standards listed. Both materials were tested

under the same conditions and same test protocols.

RESULTS

The results of the tests on the parameters tested are as follow:

Dart Impact is the most important measurement testing the strength of the film, meaning wind loads for containment uses on buildings and scaffolding. Most films fall into the 350 to 500 range at best, Global Wrap film is at 913 and that can make the difference in high winds.

Dart Impact Strength
average force 913 grams at 23°C

Tensile Strength is another test that shows the strength of the film, but focuses on elasticity, the ability of the film to come back to it's form when hit by an object or force, such as the wind.  Global Wrap film usually is 150 to 200 points higher than other films being used for containments.

Break Strength translates into the stress it takes to break an object, or in the case of shrink wrap, tear it.  Again Global Wrap is usually 200 to 300 points above other films.

Shrink Wrap recycling, recyle shrink wrap, cleanrooms, shrink wrap cleanrooms, interior protection, dust and debris barriers, shrink wrap safety
Global Wrap is Recylable
Global Wrap® film is made of the highest grade resins on the market and therefore is in demand for recycling into lower grades of film sheeting.  We offer a recycling program and encourage clients to entertain the small added costs of recycling the film.  One way or another the client pays to dispose of the containment and we here at Global Wrap® encourage the expenditure be spent on the recycling program rather than the dumpsters and land fills. If the containment is contaminated with particulates from asbestos or lead, another procedure for disposal is called for by the EPA and OSHA.
